Grandview Girls Outlast Ellensburg in Home Dual, 45-28
ELLENSBURG, WA — The Ellensburg Girls Wrestling team hosted the Grandview Greyhounds on Tuesday night (Jan 20), falling 45-28 in a dual characterized by fast falls and several forfeits.
While Grandview built an early lead through the lower weights, the Bulldogs found their footing in the upper half of the lineup. Ellensburg finished strong, winning three of the final five contested weight classes.
Norah Joyce (170 lbs) and Sophia Rawls (235 lbs) provided the biggest sparks for the home crowd, both securing dominant pins. Joyce stopped the clock in just 1:04, while Rawls pinned Aaliyah Flores in the second period (1:48).
In the lower weights, Keetin Daugherty (115 lbs) prevented a Grandview sweep with a commanding performance, controlling her match from start to finish for a 12-1 Major Decision.
The closest match of the night came at 125 lbs, where Ellensburg’s Chloe Stewart battled Ashley Casarez into overtime, narrowly losing a heartbreaker 7-6 in the tie-breaker period.

PROSSER, WA — The Ellensburg Girls Wrestling team traveled to Prosser on Thursday night to face the Mustangs. Despite a spirited effort and several dominant individual wins, the Bulldogs fell in the team score, 48-30.
While forfeits proved costly for the visitors, Ellensburg made the most of their time on the mat. The Bulldogs secured five victories on the night, with all four of their contested wins coming via pinfall.
The highlight of the evening was the sheer speed and aggression of the Bulldog lineup. Norah Joyce (170 lbs) provided the fastest finish of the dual, silencing the home crowd by pinning her opponent in just 20 seconds. Emma Bringolf (115 lbs) also made quick work of her match, securing a first-round pin in 1:12.
In the middle weights, Piper Magruder (140 lbs) and Karsyn Green (145 lbs) provided a powerful one-two punch for Ellensburg, recording back-to-back pins to keep the team energy high. Darla Perry (155 lbs) added to the team total by picking up a forfeit victory.
Despite the loss, the Bulldogs showed excellent finishing ability on the road, winning 4 out of the 7 head-to-head matches actually wrestled.
