Bulldogs Tie for Third at Season-Opening Jamboree
The Ellensburg girls golf team hit the links for the first time this season on Tuesday, March 10, competing in a multi-team scramble at theย Yakima Elks Golf Club. In a field packed with regional talent, the Bulldogs proved they have the depth to compete with the best in the conference.
The Scoreboard
Competing in a team scramble format, theย Ellensburg #1ย squad carded a solidย +2 (38), landing them in aย tie for third place. The Bulldogs finished just two strokes off the lead, with Selah #1 taking the top spot on the leaderboard.
The event featured a deep field of competitors, with Selah, Ellensburg, Grandview, and East Valley all fielding multiple squads to test their rosters early in the year.
Standout Performances
The Ellensburg #1 team featured a balanced lineup ofย Delaney Campbell, Sam Dannon, Katie Burton, and Halle Emery.
The group took full advantage of the scramble format, specifically leaning on the powerhouse performance ofย Delaney Campbell. Campbell was a force off the tee, consistently outdriving the field and carrying the ball nearlyย 200 yardsย on multiple holes to set the Bulldogs up for short approach shots and scoring opportunities.

With the first competitive rounds under their belts, the Bulldogs are shifting their focus to individual play and match strategy.
